Ingredients
-
3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
-
1 cup (240ml) warm milk (not hot!)
-
2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
-
1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
-
Activate the Yeast: In a large bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the surface becomes foamy.
-
Add Flour and Knead: Gradually add the flour to the yeast mixture. Stir with a spoon or your hands. Once it forms a dough, knead for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
-
First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a kitchen towel. Let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
-
Shape the Rolls: Punch the dough down, divide it into 8-10 pieces, and shape into balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking tray and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once the rolls have puffed up, bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown on top.
Notes
-
Make sure the milk is warm (100-110°F) to activate the yeast.
-
If the dough is too sticky, add an extra tablespoon of flour while kneading.
-
For a shiny finish, brush the baked rolls with melted butter.
