1 tbsp brown sugar

1 cup warm water (110°F)

2 tbsp vegetable oil

Old-fashioned oats (for topping)
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Stir in molasses, honey, oil, and salt.

Add whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, and cocoa powder. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

Punch down and shape into rolls or small loaves. Place on a baking sheet.

Brush with water and sprinkle oats on top.

Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until bread sounds hollow when tapped.

Cool before serving.
