  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

Wet:

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cinnamon Swirl:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Optional Toppings:

  • Coarse sugar for sprinkling

  • Glaze or icing drizzle

  • Chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line or grease a 12-cup muffin tin.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, then stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla.

  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix gently—do not overmix.

  5. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar for the swirl.

  6. Layer batter and cinnamon sugar in muffin cups: Add 1 spoonful of batter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar, repeat.

  7. Swirl gently with a toothpick for a marbled effect.

  8. Fill each muffin cup ⅔ full.

  9. Bake 18–22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  10. Cool muffins in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

  11. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For extra moisture, replace ¼ cup of milk with sour cream or Greek yogurt.

Want a crunch? Add chopped pecans or walnuts to the swirl.
