  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste or ketchup

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic until beef is browned and no longer pink, breaking apart the meat as it cooks.

  3. Stir in tomato paste (or ketchup), garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 more minutes, then remove from heat.

  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the pastry. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

  5. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the pastry into a tight log. Slice into 1-inch thick rollups. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Brush the tops with melted butter and egg wash for a glossy finish.

  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add cooked bacon or pickles inside for extra flavor.

Use your favorite cheese blend for a different twist.

Serve with ketchup or mustard for dipping.
